Confronting My Assumptions

As Mr Brown does
These days; I do a lot of walking
I don’t do that much talking
I seem to be letting go of all that kept me looking
to; make the best
From contemplation; to being
Prior to intentions and conclusions
And avoidance that kept me looking
In being I don’t do much assuming or consuming
But I see that the world is changing
In judgement and discrimination war is raging
My vulnerability emerges as do the urges
For something improving
For something permanent as I was told
In being in this moment; in my walking
It becomes a figment
Another something;created
In being fixated
It’s not in the particular that I discover
But in the surface that I uncover
That separation is a man-made intention
And at times I seem to forget
Its been a long time healing
And I’m not finished yet

I find some satisfaction in the act of attempting to express my experience of life through painting, writing, language and other art forms. I have been painting for over thirty five years and combine my love of art with a meditative and contemplative way of life. I have an intuitive sense that true creativity is something that arises from beyond and through Qthe self that can be explored and shared through some form of expression although I always hope to open to the influence of that which is beyond my limited sense of self.
